Leeds Player Ratings

Liverpool v Leeds United - Premier League
Liverpool v Leeds United - Premier League

Ilian Meslier - 5/10

His positioning for van Dijk's goal was hugely suspicious, as he almost took the ball into the net with him. He had no chance with any of Salah's three goals.

Luke Ayling - 6/10

He was robust in defence and managed to put in a few solid blocks to deny Wijnaldum and Firmino the chance to add to Liverpool's tally.

Robin Koch - 2/10

It was a Premier League debut to forget for the German. His handball offence have Liverpool their first penalty of the day. Soon after that, he left van Dijk unmarked on a corner and paid the price for it.

Pascal Struijk - 6/10

He was easily the more impressive of the two Leeds centre-backs. What stood out was his ability to play the ball out of defence and his range of passing.

Stuart Dallas - 3/10

He was given a torrid evening by Salah. The Leeds left-back had no answer to the strength, pace and trickery of the Egyptian.

Kalvin Phillips - 7/10

He was very impressive on his Premier League debut. His diagonal passes were perfectly weighted and timed. He tired as the game wore on, and his influence on it waned.

Mateusz Klich - 7/10

He got through an incredible amount of work in midfield, and the goal was due reward. It was a sensationally taken goal as well, with a superb first touch followed by a crisp strike.

Pablo Hernandez - 5/10

The veteran really didn't get into the game often enough, but provided glimpses of what he still offers this Leeds side with a few crisp passes.

Helder Costa - 6/10

He was a very peripheral figure in the game for most of it. The Portuguese did have enough possession through the game, but just didn't make enough of it. He came up with the assist for Klich's goal, which was a really well-conceived moment of brilliance from Leeds.

Jack Harrison - 7/10

Harrison scored Leeds's first goal back in the Premier League after 18 years, and it was a thing of beauty. He dribbled past Alexander-Arnodl easily, and then gave Gomez the slip, before unleashing a sweet drive past Alisson.

Patrick Bamford - 6/10

He got his goal on the nigh, but could just an easily have had another before that when he was through on goal, but failed to dink the ball over Alisson.

Substitutes

Rodrigo Moreno - 3/10

He barely had a touch of the ball in offensive areas after coming on to replace Bamford. He then compounded a forgettable Premier League debut with an awful challenge on Fabinho to give away a penalty right at the death.

Tyler Roberts - 6/10

Roberts actually had a very good impact on the game, playing just behind Rodrigo. He got into some decent spaces, but his final ball was found wanting.

Jamie Shackleton - N/A

He came on late in the game to replace a tired Klich, who just nothing left in the tank.
