What's the rumour?

Ever since Liverpool lost Coutinho to Barcelona in January, the rumour mill has linked the Reds with a number of top playmakers around Europe as potential replacements for the talented Brazilian.

Now, latest reports in Italian outlet Mediaset Sport via The Metro claim that Liverpool are targeting a sensational move for Juventus superstar Paulo Dybala. The Argentine forward is one of the brightest talents in the game and the reports claim that a bid in excess of £110 million could be enough to convince Juventus to sell the 24-year-old.

Future Liverpool star?

Liverpool received close to £146 million for Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona in January and although the Reds did spend £75 million to sign Virgil van Dijk, Klopp has largely not tapped into the Coutinho money in the transfer market.

With Liverpool impressing this season, the German manager will be keen to strengthen his squad and it will be interesting to see what kind of transfer business is conducted by Liverpool in the summer window.

The heart of the matter

Dybala has been in fine form for Juventus this season having already scored 25 goals for the Old Lady so far. Blessed with a magical left foot and a keen eye for goal, Dybala's potential arrival could make the already fearsome Liverpool attack almost unstoppable.

Having sold the likes of Paul Pogba to Manchester United and signed Higuain from Napoli, Juventus are no strangers to big money deals and the same report also claims that the Turin giants might be looking at Antoine Griezmann as a potential replacement for the Argentine playmaker.

While Liverpool might be looking for a quality playmaker in the summer transfer window, they will face a battle on their hands to sign the in-demand Argentine superstar. However, stranger things have happened in football and if Liverpool do cough up the cash, Dybala might well be pulling on the famous red shirt next season.
