What's the news?

Liverpool forward, Roberto Firmino reportedly missed today's training with illness and is doubtful to feature in the Reds Champions League tie against Bayern Munich.

In case you didn't know...

Last year's Champions League finalists, Liverpool, are set to meet Bayern Munich at Anfield for the first leg of the Champions League round-of-16 tie tomorrow.

The Reds lost all their Champions League group games away from home this season but still manages to qualify for the knockout stages, courtesy of some great form in the home games.

On the other hand, Bayern Munich enjoyed a relatively easy group stage games and were drawn up against Ajax FC, Benfica and AEK Athens FC. They finished at the top of their group, winning four out of their six games.

The heart of the matter

Problems keep on growing for Jurgen Klopp as Roberto Firmino missed today's training and is in doubt to miss tomorrow's game.

England international Daniel Sturridge is in the contention to start in place of Firmino, however, the Brazilian will go through a late fitness test before the game and still has an outside chance to start for the Reds.

Liverpool's star defender, Virgil van Dijk is suspended for the game, whereas Dejan Lovren is also in doubt to play. Meanwhile, Alex Oxlade Chamberlian and Joe Gomez are the notable long term absentees for the Reds.

What's next?

Liverpool are currently second in the Premier League table and will play Manchester United after hosting Bayern Munich at Anfield.

On the other hand, Bayern Munich are currently two points behind the leaders, Borussia Dortmund, in the Bundesliga table and are scheduled to face Hertha Berlin and Borussia Monchengladbach in the league after facing Liverpool.
