Liverpool's vice-captain — James Milner is one of the few players in the history of EPL to have spent lengthy spells with two different teams.

Having joined Manchester City from Aston Villa in 2010, Milner remained at the Etihad until 2015. An increase in competition and interest from Liverpool forced the former England international to join the Reds.

Within two months of his signing, Liverpool appointed Milner as its vice-captain. He captained the club for the first time in what was only his third appearance for Liverpool.

Milner's experience and talent as a leader and a player make him one of the most influential figures in the dressing room. Many youngsters have been revealed to have drawn inspiration from the former Manchester City man.

#2 Divock Origi (since July 29, 2014)

Divock Origi has been the main man behind Liverpool's dramatic semi-final victory against Barcelona on their road towards the 2019 Champions League victory.

After spending a couple of loan stints away from Anfield, Origi won his first major trophy with Liverpool while also playing an important role in it. His goal vs Tottenham in the final made him only the second Belgian (after Yannick Carrasco) to score in the UEFA Champions League Final.

Facing immense competition from Liverpool's front three — Salah, Firminho, Mane — Origi often played second fiddle to either of these three. Despite not getting enough playing time, the 26-year-old maintains his loyalty to the club.

The Belgian managed to feature only nine times in Liverpool's 2020-21 season.

#1 Jordan Henderson (since July 1, 2011)

Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson beats the other by a distant margin when it comes to time spent at Anfield.

Having shown early sparks of professionalism at a young age, Liverpool welcomed then 21-year-old Jordan Henderson from Sunderland in 2011. Within four years, he was handed the captain's armband following club legend Steven Gerrard's retirement.

If not for injury-related reasons, Henderson is a regular starter for the Reds. Henderson is the only player to have won England's Footballer of the Year at both U21 and senior level.

Ideally a box-to-box midfielder, Henderson graced the role of the 'number 8' under Liverpool's current manager Jurgen Klopp. He also made himself available in defensive positions while the club faced a string of injury crises.

His longevity, skillset and versatile nature make him one of the favorites within the ranks of Liverpool.
