Alberto Moreno: Most talked about left-back this summer

Liverpool’s quest to snare Alberto Moreno continues apace, after the Reds had previously lodged a formal £20 million bid comprising £15 million in cash and the £5 million-rated Suso.

And now, the Anfield outfit hope for the deal to be completed within a week, report the Mirror, after having been given the green light to speak to the 21-year-old.

Moreno took to the field for Spain in their 2-0 friendly win against Bolivia last night but was omitted from Vicente Del Bosque’s final 23-man squad for the World Cup, alongside Manchester City’s Alvaro Negredo.

Sevilla are prepared to sanction a deal for the Spain international and have given the Merseysider’s permission to talk personal terms with their client ahead of a proposed switch to the Premier League.

News of the Red’s Moreno pursuit comes off the back of reports that Rickie Lambert is edging ever closer to his dream move to Anfield.

Additionally, The Reds have launched a final take-it-or-leave-it £25 milllion bid for Lambert’s team mate Adam Lallana, as Brendan Rodgers works hard to buttress their squad in anticipation of a Champions League run next season.

A deal for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Emre Can is also thought to be on the cards, with personal terms currently being discussed after his £10m release cause was triggered by the English club.
