Hello and welcome to Liverpool FC transfer roundup for the day. Following the injury to Dejan Lovren, the Reds are in defensive crisis ahead of some crucial fixtures coming up. Jurgen Klopp is looking to add some players to the roster as he looks to keep on the same pace with Manchester City as he cannot lose more games which will put the European runners up on the pressure.

Attacking midfield is another part the German manager would be eyeing after a deal for Nabil Fekir fell through in the summer transfer window. They have been linked with some players in the recent weeks.

Liverpool are exploring about the possibility to bring in Burnley defender James Tarkowski on loan until the end of the season to solve the ongoing defensive crisis. According to Mirror, it is believed that Jurgen Klopp wants to sanction a loan deal, but Burnley are prepared to let him go in a permanent deal which could cost 50 million.

Joe Gomez has been out for more than four weeks, Joel Matip for three weeks, and Dejan Lovren is expected to be fit only by February. They are all expected to be fit only during February which makes the life tougher for the Reds.

It remains to be seen if the English outfit would be prepared to let him for in a short term deal during the winter window.

James Rodriguez interest gathers

Earlier this week Spanish publication Don Balon quoted that Jurgen Klopp is keen to add James Rodriguez to his attacking prowess. The news has started to gather now as the English outlet Mirror have suggested that the Reds are interested in securing his services.

The Columbian has not really hit the heights he is expected from since he joined Real Madrid in 2014, but there is no questioning his talent. The 27-year-old has also struggled to find a place in the starting eleven at Bayern Munich as he continues his loan spell with the Bavarians.

A deal for Nabil Fekir did not materialize in the summer window which might force Jurgen Klopp to move to James who has similar attributes to the French International. A fee around 60 million will be enough to lure him to Anfield.

Ben Woodburn returns to Liverpool

Ben Woodburn has returned to Liverpool following a disappointing loan spell with Sheffield United. The Welsh International has made just one senior appearance for the second tier club and has been sent back after failing to prove his talent.

Two years back, Alexander Arnold and Ben Woodburn made their debuts together, but one has made a meteoric rise and the other's improvement has stagnated. Although it is not officially announced by Liverpool FC, every other outlet say that the attacker has been sent back to Merseyside.

On-loan at Scottish side Ryan Kent has already said that he would talk to Liverpool about a permanent transfer to Steven Gerrard's side in the summer transfer window. It is also understood that the club are trying to pursue a deal, according to Daily Record.

Rangers' director Mark Allen said "We would certainly like to pursue what we do next with Ryan but that is a conversation we have to have with Liverpool.

"He is their player but we have a very good relationship with Liverpool and it is dialogue that will continue for the foreseeable future."
