Liverpool enter the race for Hirving Lozano

According to the Metro, Liverpool have now entered the race for Mexican sensation Hirving Lozano and will go head to head with rivals Arsenal for the winger's signature. The 22-year-old has been in scintillating form for PSV Eindhoven ever since joining from Pachuca in the summer.

Lozano has managed to score 11 goals from his 16 appearances for the club so far and is touted as one of Mexico's most promising youngsters in Europe at the moment. It seemed as if Arsene Wenger had stolen a march on landing the Mexican but Jurgen Klopp has now identified the player as an invaluable addition to his Liverpool side.

Paris-Saint Germain shot-stopper Kevin Trapp could be on his way to Anfield, according to his agent. The 27-year-old has hardly featured for Unai Emery's side this season and is reportedly on the search for better opportunities in January.

If the reports are to be believed, Liverpool have already identified the German as the ideal replacement for Simon Mignolet at the club. Trapp has made just 4 appearances for the Ligue 1 giants across all competitions this season and his agent revealed that the player is very likely to seek greener pastures as soon as the winter transfer window opens.

"If there is a chance in the winter, Kevin wants to leave Paris," agent Jorg Neubauer said. The player had also commented on the rumours a month ago by saying, "It's an amazing club with a great tradition. And of course, I'm a fan of the Premier League."

"The Reds are not without interest, they have already won many titles, and Jurgen Klopp is, of course, a very good coach," he added.

Liverpool to join Tottenham in race for wonderkid

Liverpool will battle Tottenham for the signature of Sheffield United wonderkid David Brooks, according to various reports in England. The midfielder has impressed for the Blades in the championship and was being monitored by a number of top-flight clubs including Liverpool since the beginning of the season.

Brooks has established himself as one of English football's brightest young prospects under manager Chris Wilder and also made his full debut for Wales earlier this season against Panama in November. Despite interest from arch-rivals Everton and Tottenham, Jurgen Klopp is confident that the Reds can acquire the Welshman's services for a fee reported to be around £10 million.

However, Wilder has confirmed that the player is a vital cog in Sheffield's hopes of making the Premier League after an absence of 11 years but admits that the decision might not be his after all. "We are building something here and, of course, there will be casualties along the way. But David won’t be going anywhere in January," he said.

"There’s a lot of off-the-record conversations, whether it be agents, or even clubs themselves asking what we are doing. But nothing changes from my point of view. David is not for sale because he is part and parcel of what we are doing going forward," Wilder added.
