Liverpool transfer news: New deal for Salah, PL midfielder speaks about Anfield move and more - 26th March 2018

Liverpool v Southampton - Premier League
New contract to ward off suitors?

#1 Liverpool set to offer bumper contract to keep Mohamed Salah

The Egyptian is in the form of his life as he cannot stop scoring for both club and country. The 25-year old has already scored 28 goals in the Premier League this season.

The Liverpool No.11 has a great chance to break the 38-game goal record of 31 goals as he only needs four more goals from seven matches.

Such top performances see Salah lead the race for the PL Golden Boot as well as the European Golden Shoe.

Naturally, European heavyweights are expected to come in for him, a constant worry for Liverpool fans.

However, the club is ready to ward off any bids in the summer by rewarding the wide forward with a bumper new contract, as per the Mirror.

Salah is set to be offered a massive new contract which will fetch him a stunning £200,000 every week.

Further, the attacker has told his friends of his intention to stay at Liverpool to prove himself in the league, as per the same report.

Thus, Liverpool fans can breathe a sigh of relief as soon as Salah signs the new contract and the Merseyside club can be hopeful of keeping their prized asset for another season at the minimum.

#2 Timo Werner set to prove a difficult target to sign this summer

Napoli v RB Leipzig - UEFA Europa League
Klopp is a huge fan of Werner

The 22-year old is one of the best young strikers in world football at the moment and has scored 18 goals across all competitions this season.

The RB Leipzig striker has already made his German debut and a glorious future looks set for him.

Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, is a huge fan of the player and wants to sign him in the summer.

Werner's team-mate Naby Keita is already set to join Klopp's attacking side in the summer and the Reds gaffer wants to bring the former as well.

The Merseyside club are ready to pay as much as €100 million to sign the talented forward but any deal with Leipzig will prove difficult, as seen in the Keita saga.

Further, Werner himself spoke about the possibility of moving away from Leizpig and said:

"I do not want to clarify anything, just repeat what our sporting director Ralf Rangnick has always said, that he would not let me go - if I wanted to - in the summer anyway. "I do not think he (Ralf Rangnick) tells me that I will stay no matter what happens and will sell those who play with me when offers come in. In fact, I think we will have two or three very good new players."

Thus, Werner is only talking about the club's stance and as seen with Keita, it could change. Either way, it could turn out to be another tricky transfer if Liverpool wants to sign the young forward.

#3 Abdoulaye Doucoure reveals Liverpool dream

Southampton v Watford - Premier League
Doucoure says he was eager to play at Anfield

The Watford man has risen to prominence this season with eye-catching displays in the Hornets' midfield.

The 25-year old is full of energy, athleticism and has a wonderful eye for goal which is why he is Watford's top scorer this season with seven goals so far.

Now, the midfielder was asked regarding the possibility of joining Liverpool and he said:

"Liverpool is a club that needs no introduction. I was impatient to play there at Anfield, I wanted to feel the atmosphere. For me it would be a dream to play in a club like this."
"I am grateful to Watford, I have the confidence of this club, it is the one who revealed to me [to the Premier League]. If there is an offer, we will discuss to find the best solution. Everyone wants to play in the Champions League, the big competitions."

Thus, Doucoure was pretty frank in revealing his ambitions and he could really flourish under Klopp if he can adapt to playing for a bigger club.
