Loan Report: The ever improving Romeu

With so much going on this week with lots of games in the academy and a full schedule of loan games the loan report this week i have decided to do separate and as always there was lots of loan players to catch up with.

Starting off as always in the Premier League and there was 2 fixtures this week and Romelu Lukaku as he has been doing all season made the most of the minutes he got firstly in Everton’s 4 – 0 home win against Stoke, Lukaku played 80 minutes in this game and got the 4th goal of the game. The second game of the week for Lukaku was to be a big one away at Manchester United. By all accounts Lukaku had a decent game and made life difficult for United which culminated in him supplying the cross for Everton’s goal which meant they ran out 1 – 0 winners on the night. For Victor Moses there was better news as the injury to Daniel Sturridge would afford him more chances. However that was only to be half right, Moses did start the first game of the week however that game was to be a 3 – 1 defeat away to Hull and as a result of that Moses did not start the next game which would be a 5 – 1 win over Norwich.

In the championship Todd Kane continues to rack up valuable experience in a very good league this week getting his 18th and 19th starts of the season in their 1 – 0 home win over Leeds and the 3 – 1 away defeat to Ipswich. For Nathaniel Chalobah things are still not as he would like, this week he did not make it off the bench for their Friday evening game which was a 3 – 2 away defeat to Reading. However in the midweek game against Milwall Chalobah started the game and played for 80 minutes and scored the equalizer in the 65th minute. For Josh McEachran there was no minutes for him at Watford this week as he was suffering from a virus.

In league one there was only one game for Brentford and that was 1 – 0 away win over Notts County and Saville started on the bench for that game but came on in the 55th minute. Neil Bath this week confirmed that they are in discussions with Brentford with a view to extended his loan there. Sam Walker this week played in Colchester’s 2 – 1 away defeat to Tranmere. Patrick Bamford is going through something of a lean spell at the moment with MK Dons and this week he was unable to score again as the Dons suffered a 3 – 1 home defeat to Coventry. Finally in League 1 and there was another start for Milan Lalkovic at Walsall as he played for 65 minutes in their 2 – 0 defeat to Port Vale.

Casting our eye now abroad and into the Spanish league where Courtois kept his 9th clean sheet of the season as they dispatched Elche 2 – 0. Marko Marin continues to be absent for Sevilla. There is better news however for Oriol Romeu at Valencia, having seemingly overcome his injury troubles he is now starting to finally get a run of games and the reports coming out of those games are very favorable to Romeu and with midfield spots up for grabs at Chelsea a run of games for the rest of the season could bode well for his Chelsea chances next season. Finally in Spain and Ulises Davilla and Cordoba was up against Barcelona’s B side and fell to a 2 – 1 defeat with Davilla playing the full game.

Chelsea’s B side Vitesse kept their place at the top of the Dutch league with a 3 – 0 home win over Cambuur, no Chelsea players got on the scoresheet this week but Van Aanholt, Piazon and Atsu all started the game with Kakuta making an appearance as a sub and Hutchinson staying on the bench. Elsewhere in Holland Stipe Perica continues to earn a reputation as a super sub as he came on for NAC Breda with 25 minutes to go and scored after being on the pitch for 10 minutes, that was his 4th goal of the season.

Elsewhere and finally in Europe Thorgan Hazard played another 90 minutes for Waregem as they drew 1 – 1 with Kotrikj in the Belgium League. Last but not least there was massive news for Wallace,in Inter’s first game of the week Wallace assumed his customary position on the bench for the whole game but in the midweek cup game he finally earned his first start of the season and played the full game.

So another exciting loan report and there will plenty more to come next week.
