Louis Saha has decided to retire from professional football, bringing to an end a successful and a memorable career.

The former French star has played successfully for various football clubs such as Newcastle, Manchester United, Spurs, Fulham, Everton and Sunderland.

Saha said: “Want to thank all managers, all staff, all teammates, all opponents, all fans, for all support and love towards me during my football career,” reported the Independent.

“I’m a proud man but without you all I won’t be myself now. Thanks for the challenges, thanks for the help, thanks for the memories, thanks for the passion.” he added.

Louis Saha began his career in 1997 with a stint at Metz. He then went onto play for Newcastle and made twelve appearances for them in the 1998/99 league.

In 2000, Fulham F.C. signed him permanently, and he rewarded that decision by scoring 64 goals for the club in 144 games.

Then, Saha made the gigantic move to Manchester United in a whopping deal of £12.8million. He scored 42 goals in more than 120 matches for the club.

Saha stayed on at United for a period of four and a half years, after which he played for Everton. He had a moderately successful time at Everton scoring 35 goals in 115 appearances.

He then played for the Spurs in January of last year and also had short appearances for Sunderland and then Lazio, at the back end of last season.
