Chelsea winger Flourent Malouda has expressed his delight at leaving the club after having a miserable season. The player was frozen out by the team and was forced to train with the reserves for the whole of the campaign without making a single appearance for the first team. His current contract is set to expire next month, and he is set to leave on free transfer.
The player is now looking to resurrect his career at a different club, with a France likely to be his next destination.
“I had a problem to sort out with certain people. It’s done. Now, I’m free.
“I’m going to be able to play again next season and I cannot wait.
“I’ve been preparing all year long. I’ll be back next season.”
The French international was signed from Lyon for £13.5 million in 2007 and helped the Blues win five major trophies, including the Champions League last year.
Yossi Benayoun and keepers Ross Turnbull and Henrique Hilario are also leaving the club after their contracts expired.
