According to sources, the Greater Manchester police are presently studying the footage of a television interview given by Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany after his team’s 2-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday.

The comments during Kompany and his teammate James Milner’s interview are being investigated to check if there were any racist remarks made on them.

However, a statement by the police after Monday’s Manchester derby said: “Greater Manchester Police has not received a complaint about racist abuse directed towards any players following last night’s fixture. However, we have been made aware of this footage by the Manchester Evening News.

“The force will work with both clubs and review any footage to investigate the incident.”

Kompany scored an own goal, cancelling out Milner’s opener for City, but a late goal from Sergio Aguero sealed it for City.
