David Silva is one of the best playmakers of this generation and it is always interesting to listen to the Manchester City star's take on the game. When asked to pick his all time dream XI, Silva had some interesting opinions about the players he chose.

Going with the 4-4-2 formation, Silva unsurprisingly picked Iker Casillas as the goalkeeper. Silva and Casillas together have been an integral part of the national team that won major honours together and the silky playmaker had no doubt about his choice.

For his defensive back four, he went with Cafu, Ramos, Puyol and Roberto Carlos. The two Brazilians on the flanks with the Spanish duo partnering at the heart of the defence. While few will argue with his choice for the full-backs, Silva's experience of playing with Puyol and Ramos for the national team must have definitely influenced his decisions.

The midfield four is extremely formidable with creativity and hard work mixed in equal measure. For the two holding midfielders role, he chose Patrick Vieira and Claude Makelele. The French duo was renowned for their positioning and ball retention and both had extremely successful careers for various top clubs across Europe.

For the wings, Silva went with the creativity and quick feet of Luis Figo on the left and the genius of Michael Laudrup on the right. Both Figo and Laudrup played very successfully for both Real Madrid and Barcelona and the two legends were definitely more than capable of unlocking defences.

For his two forwards, Silva went with Messi and the Brazilian legend Ronaldo Nazario. Silva was full of praise for Messi even calling him the greatest player of all time. The forward line of Messi and Ronaldo Nazario is sure to strike terror into any opposition defence.
