Valencia v Real Madrid - La Liga
Zidane set to suffer a double whammy at the hands of Manchester City

What's the story?

Harry Kane is all set to be the talk of the town this summer with his consistent showings in the Premier League and in Europe not going unnoticed. Real Madrid were said to be the favourites to land the English striker at the end of the season but according to Diario Gol, Manchester City are ready to beat Real Madrid to the signing of the in-form striker.

The Spanish tabloid have also claimed that Real Madrid's Isco is on his way to the Etihad with Pep Guardiola finally set to get his long-term target.

In case you didn't know...

Both Harry Kane and Isco have been linked with a move away from their respective clubs in the summer. Kane has been tipped to change loyalties for a crack at winning trophies at a bigger club whereas Isco's need for regular playing time has seen him being in the headlines for not getting a consistent role in Madrid's starting lineup under Zinedine Zidane.

The heart of the matter

Coming back to the Diario Gol report, Pep Guardiola is claimed to be the man keen on landing both Kane and Isco this summer. The City gaffer is convinced that Isco can prove to be a success in the fast-paced Premier League with his backing and has been an admirer of the playmaker since his Malaga days.

Guardiola also believes that Harry Kane should stay in England and continue dominating the scenes in his homeland. The former Barcelona boss feels that the Spurs hitman can help him create a more balanced and a complete team.

Rumour probability: 6/10

Between the two mentioned names, Isco is the one that can be seen in a City shirt next season. He is desperate to leave and it is also believed that Florentino Perez is ready to sanction his move.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur chief Daniel Levy has proved to be a tricky negotiator as the North London side will not look to sell their best player to a direct rival.

Author's take

After their blitzkrieg to the Premier League title, Pep Guardiola and Manchester City must now be preparing for quality reinforcements in the summer to make this unit a force to reckon with in the coming years. Harry Kane and Isco can walk into any team in the world and if these transfers do take place then there's surely no stopping the City juggernaut.
