Manchester City and Liverpool monitoring Jack Wilshere situation

According to the Express, Manchester City and Liverpool are considering raiding Arsenal for Jack Wilshere, who wants his future sorted before the World Cup.

There have also been reports that Everton, Juventus and AC Milan have already made approaches for the 26-year-old.

The Gunners have asked the Englishman, who recently earned his call-up to the national side, to take a pay cut from his current £110,000-a-week to £90,000, and sign up for an incentive-based deal.

The injury-plagued midfielder, who has made 17 Arsenal appearances in the league and another 14 in cup competitions after a year away on loan at Bournemouth, has revealed that Arsene Wenger told him he could leave the club last summer.

"It was an honest conversation," Wilshere said.

"It had been boiling up for a while. Everybody knew I had a year left on my deal and had been out on loan, got injured and wasn’t really in his plans. He just said: ‘At the moment we are not going to be offering you a contract so, if you can get one somewhere else, you can go."

"Obviously I wasn’t happy with what the manager had said but, at the same time, part of me knew all this already. All I needed was some clarity on where I stood at the football club. How did I feel after? It did make me think."

According to reports in the Express, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool are preparing bids for Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema, who is set to be axed in the summer after a poor season.

The 30-year-old, who has been with the La Liga giants since 2009 and recently penned a new long-term deal at the Santiago Bernabeu, has scored just seven goals in 31 appearances in all competitions.

Zinedine Zidane is looking to usher in a new generation of Galacticos and the former Lyon star could be the first one to face the axe.

Jerome Boateng is a man in demand

According to the Sun, Manchester City have joined bitter rivals Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid in the race to land £50m-rated Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng.

Pep Guardiola, who won three Bundesliga titles with the 29-year-old between 2014 and 2016, has been a longtime admirer of the German international.

Boateng, who was a key part of Germany's World Cup success in 2014, left City in 2011 and during his time at the Allianz Arena, the defender made 251 appearances for Jup Heynckes' side, scoring eight goals and assisting 20 in the process.

Boateng, with his 24 outings coming in all competitions during the 2010-11 campaign at the Etihad Stadium, still has over three years remaining on his current contract.
