All of the day's important transfer news, updates and rumours involving Manchester City
Kevin de Bruyne coy over Alexis Sanchez move
Alexis Sanchez has been linked to Manchester City for a long time. The Chilean winger is in the last months of his Arsenal contract and will be free to leave at the end of the season. Recent rumours have stated that City wants to sign him in January itself rather than waiting for the summer.
When De Bruyne was asked about the prospect of signing the winger, he refused to commit to any possibility. He said that the team is prepared to welcome any incoming players.
"Obviously we will see what happens in this transfer period. We don't have to [think] about that anyway. If a good player comes to us that is better, if he doesn't come we do it with the team we have." De Bruyne said, as quoted by Goal.
Manchester City hold further talks for Jonny Evans
Manchester City have been keeping tabs on Jonny Evans since the summer transfer window commenced. The ball-playing skills of the West Brom captain make him suitable for Pep Guardiola's style of play.
According to the Times, Manchester City have held further talks with West Brom regarding the sale of the England International. The Premier League leaders are reportedly ready to spend £20 million for their target but the Baggies want £25 million for their prized asset.
Kevin de Bruyne is relaxed about new contract
Kevin de Bruyne has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season. The Premier League leaders are set to reward him with a new contract which would keep him at the club for a long time.
His agent is set to meet the Manchester City board to finalize the contract extension. The Belgium playmaker is in no hurry as he still has 3 and a half years remaining on his current contract.
"We are still in negotiations, I am waiting for an offer from the club but my agent has been on holiday for three weeks. There is nothing really new for the moment." De Bruyne said as quoted by the Goal
Raheem Sterling set to sign a new contract too
Raheem Sterling has emerged as one of the most improved players in the world this season. The England winger has scored 18 goals for Manchester City this season. He is very important for the Premier League leaders who are set to offer him a new contract.
According to the Guardian, City are set to offer him a new deal in order to tie him down for a long time. Raheem Sterling is set to earn more than £250,000 per week if he signs the new deal.
