Barcelona manager, Ernesto Valverde has hit out at Pep Guardiola over Frenkie de Jong transfer after the Dutch International signed for the Catalans in a €75 million deal and was scheduled to join the club in July. De Jong attracted interest from some European clubs which included Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain as well.

However, Valverde didn't like the way City approached the player over a possible transfer. In an interview, he said -

"Talking to a player who is under contract with another team is something that can't be done,"
"You can't talk to a player who is under contract and that's something that isn't in my personal code but suffice to say, everyone has their own way of acting."

Despite Man City's attempts to sign one of Europe's rising young prospects, Barcelona had the last laugh with the player himself describing the Spanish giants as his dream club.

Paul Pogba's brother, Florentin Pogba has given his opinion about the midfielder's possible destinations if and when he leaves Manchester United in the future.

In an interview, Florentin said -

When my brother leaves Manchester United, there are only three clubs he can go to improve: City, Real Madrid or Barça. He's not going to go to City, so he'll come to Spain: to Barça or Madrid

The Guinea international defender, even added that Paul was not happy under Jose Mourinho and things have improved after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's appointment who he knew from his youth days at the club.

Florentin would be joining the relegation-threatened side, Elche following a period on trial at the Segunda División club.

According to the reports, Manchester City has rejected Schalke's bid for 18-year-old Wales International, Rabbi Matondo after the Bundesliga club made the first approach for the youngster amidst a host of other clubs like Bayern Munich, Borussia Monchengladbach and RB Leipzig who are also keeping an eye on the young prospect.

Matondo is regarded to be the fastest player in the entire City squad and valued around £10 million. Rabbi has so far rejected a new contract offer from Man City with his current contract expiring in June 2020.

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has given his opinion about the extraordinary transfer value of players and their wages after missing out on Frenkie de Jong who signed for Barcelona at a weekly salary of more than £300,000.

Guardiola said -

"Everybody can pay a lot in fees and wages. Before the rumours were that it was just Paris St-Germain and Manchester City. That is over.
"The others are quicker and smarter, like we try to do. There are many and sometimes we can't compete with that. We have to be quicker and smarter and try to buy the players. We have to adapt.

He pressed on the importance of prioritizing young players and help them develop their personality at City.
