The Premier League leaders could be in for a busy end to the transfer window. Pep Guardiola's side have rampaged their way through the league so far this season and could add a few fresh faces to ensure they continue their dominance in the English top flight.

Raheem Sterling has been brilliant for Manchester City in the past months. This season, the right winger has already scored 18 goals for the Citizens, as he has emerged as one of the most improved players in Europe.

Having scored many important goals this season in the Premier League and the Champions League, his brilliant performances have caught the attention of several clubs around Europe.

According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has requested Florentino Perez to sign Raheem Sterling in the summer.

However, it would be difficult for Los Blancos to sign the Englishman, as he is now a key player at Manchester City. The England International has been a fundamental part of Pep Guardiola's system this season and the Premier League leaders will not be willing to let their prized asset leave them.

Manchester City is looking to sign a backup defender in the January window and they have been constantly linked to West Brom defender Jonny Evans. The former Manchester United man has a wealth of Premier League experience and can provide a great option in the heart of Premier League leaders' defence.

Arsenal is also interested in signing the defender but according to The Sun the Evans prefers a move to the Etihad. The newspaper also understands that West Brom is ready to sell Jonny Evans if Manchester City pay their asking price of 23.5 million pounds.

The Premier League leaders already tried to sign the Northern Irish international in the summer window but failed in their efforts.

Manchester City has been brilliant this season and Fernandinho has been indispensable to their success this season. The Brazilian has been fantastic at protecting City's backline and as also captained the side on several occasions.

The defensive midfielder has been a pivotal part of Manchester City's resurgence, having made 30 appearances in all competitions this season. According to Washington Post, Fernandinho has signed a new two-year contract extension, which will keep him at the club until 2020.

Fernandinho revealed that he is confident of winning silverware under Pep Guardiola after extending his stay at the Etihad. “I feel sure we can win significant silverware and, importantly, we will try to do it playing attractive, attacking the football".
