Barcelona enter race to sign Van Dijk

A lot of Premier League clubs have registered their interest in signing the Southampton defender Virgil Van Dijk. Liverpool have been long-term admirers of the Dutch defender, while Chelsea are also looking for defensive enforcements.

Premier League leaders Manchester City seem to be in pole position to sign the Dutch defender. According to the Spanish publication Sport, Barcelona are ready to battle City and other Premier League clubs in order to sign the Dutch defender. The centre-back has been omitted from starting line-ups recently which has fuelled his exit rumours.

Manchester City were constantly linked to Alexis Sanchez in the summer transfer window. Arsenal managed to keep hold of him in the summer but Sanchez has only six months left on his Arsenal contract.
