David de Gea: 4/10

  • It was not his day as City managed to score three past him. The Spain number 1 was not supported well by his defence and faltered as a result. He did make a couple of good saves but it ultimately proved ineffective.

Ashley Young: 6/10

  • Like he has done so in recent games, Young moved across the entire right flank and provided a couple of good crosses. The captain was the only shining light in United's crumbled defence.

Chris Smalling: 5/10

  • Smalling moved up into attack for some time after Silva's goal and even headed a shot just over the bar in the 25th minute. Apart from that, he didn't perform too well and let Agüero run inside United's half.

Victor Lindelöf: 5/10

  • Lindelöf was more composed than Smalling and he tried hard to maintain United's backline. In the end, City's attack was just too much to handle.

📒Luke Shaw: 4/10

  • Luke Shaw received a booking just before the half-time whistle and was overshadowed by both Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling during the game.

🔻Ander Herrera: 5/10

  • Herrera had a rough start to the game, being pushed down by Sergio Agüero in the box before knocking his head during a tackle. He was substituted off in place of Juan Mata at the 73rd minute.

Nemanja Matić: 6/10

  • Matić blocked a great chance for Sterling in the penalty box after United gave the ball away. He also slipped back in defense and formed a two-man midfield partnership with Fellaini towards the end.

Marouane Fellaini: 6/10

  • The Belgian occasionally dropped back into defence during the first half and made some timely interceptions. He went on to play the full 90 minutes and was United's main midfielder.

🔻Jesse Lingard: 5/10

  • Lingard didn't have too much off the ball during his time on the pitch and as a result, failed to make a meaningful impact. He was brought off for Romelu Lukaku in the second half.

🔻Marcus Rashford: 6/10

  • Rashford found it tough to breach Manchester City's defence and was occasionally found outside of position on the right wing. He stayed up front for the little chances United created and was subbed off at the 73rd minute.

⚽️Anthony Martial: 7/10

  • Martial was very active on the left wing and helped create opportunities for the Red Devils. He converted the penalty that Ederson gave away, making it 5 goals in 5 consecutive matches for the Frenchman.

Substitutes:

🔺Romelu Lukaku: 5/10

  • Lukaku was subbed on for Jesse Lingard in the 57th minute and immediately won United a penalty.

🔺Juan Mata: 5/10

  • Mata was brought in to try and bring United back into the game but never had the opportunity to do so. He replaced fellow Spaniard Ander Herrera in the 73rd minute.

🔺Alexis Sanchez: 5/10

  • Sanchez came on for Marcus Rashford as part of a double substitution in the 73rd minute. He too was tasked with levelling the game for the Red Devils, but couldn't do so.
