Tonight, an overly defensive approach and a lack of gameplan in the final third cost them the three points, but they will be happy to have avoided a defeat here.

City will be heading back to their base with just a point from the game, but Guardiola will be a happy man knowing that his side stopped Manchester United from getting on the scoresheet. It was their sixth consecutive clean sheet across all competitions.
City's defence has been a serious point of concern for them this term. However, it seems Guardiola has been putting his defenders to the test in training, and the hard work is paying off.
#1 Kevin De Bruyne was let down by his teammates
Kevin De Bruyne was one of the best players on the pitch tonight. He was at the heart of most of City's good chances going forward, and has the right to be angry at his teammates for their lacklustre display.
He created a game-best three chances, including the best chance of the game when he found Riyad Mahrez completely free in the box with a smooth one-touch pass. The opportunity was then wasted by their top scorer for the season.
His set-piece deliveries were on the mark as usual, but his passing accuracy took a hit tonight. He could only complete 72% of his passes, but his City teammates did not make a lot of good runs.
