Pereira had an unusually quiet game
Unlike the previous games, United had an urgency on the ball today. Much of it was due to the presence of Fred and Herrera, who wasted little time on the ball and kept it moving. But every player seemed to have a desire to hit Bayern on the counter.

At the start of the game, Darmian and Shaw joined in the attack whenever United went forward. Shaw almost put Mata through with a fabulous ball, before the diminutive Spaniard was brushed off the ball. Darmian linked well with Mata and Herrera, and Sanchez covered for Shaw frequently.
In one instance, Shaw stepped up to intercept the ball, then ran the length of the pitch to receive it back from Rashford but unfortunately overhit his final pass to Fred. United played to their strengths initially and tried to catch Bayern on the counter and they displayed a rare urgency to make the strategy possible.
However, they could not keep up that momentum all through the game, and the main man Pereira was unusually quiet. It could be due to the fatigue of a packed preseason, but it definitely is something Mourinho must look to address.

Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
