Manchester United continued their impressive pre-season start with a convincing win over Inter Milan. The match took place in Singapore with over 50,000 people, mostly wearing Red. Manchester United academy graduate Mason Greenwood scored the only goal in the match.

It wasn't like the last two matches that United played as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer didn't play two different teams for two halves. Instead, the first half team played for about 60 minutes. The starting XI was David de Gea, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Axel Tuanzebe, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw, Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford, Daniel James, and Anthony Martial. Throughout the first half, United came close to scoring but they couldn't find the decisive touch.

In the second half, Manchester United dominated Inter completely and the substitutes were Sergio Romero, Ashley Young, Diogo Dalot, Phil Jones, Eric Bailly, Fred, Scott McTominay, Tahith Chong, Mason Greenwood, and Andreas Pereira. As mentioned above, Greenwood broke the deadlock with an impressive finish.

All in all, it was pretty good work-out for Solskjaer's boys and in this slideshow, we look at five talking points from the match.

#5 United's playing style under Solskjaer is taking shape

If United's playing style under Solskjaer was to be described in as few words as possible, it would read something like this: Attacking, high press, high line of defence, quick transitions, neat passing triangles and as many shots as possible.

The intensity that United have shown in this pre-season has been magnificent. United weren't giving any time to Inter Milan on the ball and they just weren't letting their midfield settle. Marcelo Brozovic and Milan Skriniar's furstration in the end speaks for itself.

United were trying to win back possession higher up the field and not a single time in the match were they letting the opposition dictate the play.

#4 Paul Pogba and Aaron Wan-Bissaka looked a class apart

Today's game was all about how brilliantly Paul Pogba was dominating in the middle of the park. He was at the centre of everything good for Manchester United and it is evident why Solskjaer is so desperately trying to keep him.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the new signing from Crystal Palace looks unbeatable on that right side. Dalbert, the Inter wing-back couldn't once get past the young Englishman. The 21-year-old has also shared a brilliant bond with Pogba on the field and they were linking up very well on that right-side. It is fair to say that Wan-Bissaka is already starting to look a brilliant signing, even though it is just pre-season.

#3 Victor Lindelof and Axel Tuanzebe looked good together

Manchester United, for the first time, started Tuanzebe and Lindelof together and it is fair to say, both of them put on an impressive display. Everybody knows that Lindelof is by far Manchester United's best defender but the big question is, who would start beside him?

This pre-season will determine that and so far, the front runner is Eric Bailly but after today's tidy display from Tuanzebe, Solskjaer would be very pleased. There have been talks of Tuanzebe going on another loan spell but the fact is that Tuanzebe solves a lot of problems at the back for United and he could turn out to be very crucial for the season ahead.

#2 Mason Greenwood and Tahith Chong impressive again

Both Greenwood and Chong got only 30 minutes to impress Solskjaer and they did exactly that. Especially Greenwood, who has now scored in both the pre-season games. His goal was absolutely brilliant as he received the ball on the right side, shimmied a little, turned and shot it into the back of the net.

He did it with his left foot and at another moment in the game, he received the ball at the half-line, performed a roulette turn and left Milan Skriniar for dead. Chong also managed to impress on the left-wing after coming on. He beat his marker on many occasions and was fouled constantly. Unfortunately, he picked up a knock late in the game and Angel Gomes replaced him.

Both these players are real talents and Solskjaer needs to handle them very carefully.

#1 Manchester United lack a number 10 who can open up a defence at will

If the pre-season is anything to go by, Solskjaer seems to prefer a fluid 4-2-3-1 as his go-to formation and currently, United lack that cutting edge number 10. Only Juan Mata has those traits but he is on the wrong side of 30.

If United can sign up a number 10 before the window closes, preferably someone like Bruno Fernandes, then this team would start to look much more comprehensive. As things stand though, United still have a lot of work to do in the transfer market.
