What’s the story?
Manchester United are interested in signing two superstar midfielders to partner Paul Pogba next season. According to various reports in Gianluca di Marzio, Jose Mourinho has made Real Madrid superstar Toni Kroos and Monaco star Fabinho as priority targets in the summer transfer window. With Michael Carrick ageing and Rooney not good enough anymore, Mourinho is ready to greenlight deals for the two midfielders.
Tiemoue Bakayoko and Cesc Fabregas have also been mentioned as alternatives, but it is believed that Mourinho is very keen on signing both Kroos and Fabinho in the next transfer window.

Manchester United have long been interested in signing German midfielder Toni Kroos. The Real Madrid maestro has been in fine form and is one of the game’s best passers of the ball at the moment. Fabinho, on the other hand, has largely been an unsung hero in Monaco’s brilliant season so far.
Full of energy and drive, the versatile midfielder will bring in some much-needed running and defensive solidity to the midfield. Still only 23, Fabinho is perfectly suited to meet Mourinho’s demands.

The heart of the matter
Paul Pogba’s performances in midfield have come under a lot of scrutiny this season. The United ‘number 6’ often looks shackled in his role and has yet to fully hit his stride at Old Trafford. However, should Fabinho and Kroos actually make a move to United, it would end up freeing POgba and the French international could finally show his true worth next season.
It promises to be a summer of great change at Manchester United with plenty of big names set to enter and leave the Premier League giants. Another interesting aspect is that Madrid are reportedly after David de Gea and Kroos might be used in the deal to make it suitable for both parties.
What’s next?
Toni Kroos has been at his dependable best this season and the German will be determined to end the season with both the League and the Champions League titles added to hi already bulging trophy cabinet.
On the other hand, the young stars of Monaco are all wanted by top clubs across Europe and the Ligue 1 side will find it tough to hold on to their star players in the transfer window.

Manchester United definitely need some energy, quality and dynamism in midfield and the signings of Kroos and Fabinho should definitely be pursued actively as they can also free Paul Pogba and bring the best out of the Frenchman next season.
