#2 Memphis Depay

Memphis Depay was sold by Manchester United during Mourinho's reign but his move was planned long before that as he wasn't great since he signed for the Red Devils.

It was not the lack of quality that hampered Depay's career at Old Trafford but it was the club's style of play which just didn't suit him.

The Netherlands international is a very stylish player and on his day, he can rip through any defence in the world but he just wasn't allowed that attacking freedom under Van Gaal and Mourinho.

He would have liked the Norwegian's style of play much more and not only that, his pace and skill on the ball would have been devastating on the counter. Just imagine an attack comprising of Depay, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba!!

#1 Angel Di Maria

Angel Di Maria was sold by Manchester United during the Van Gaal-era and the Argentine is one of the biggest failed signings by the Red Devils in this decade.

It wasn't that he failed miserably at United but the way he left after just one season with the Red Devils is what put sour tastes in the mouths of the Old Trafford faithful.

Di Maria had tremendous quality and if he would have been signed under Solskjaer, chances are he would have stayed at Old Trafford as he would have been allowed to play with much more freedom.

Even Mourinho admitted that he would have never sold Di Maria, so just imagine how good that United attack would have been if the Argentine stayed. But unfortunately that didn't happen and now he is showing all his qualities at Paris Saint-Germain.
