What's the news?

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that he was asked to 'get the mood back' at the Old Trafford when he took charge at the club.

In case you didn't know...

Manchester United appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the caretaker manager for rest of the season in December 2018, and the Norwegian has done a brilliant job so far at the club.

The Red Devils are currently unbeaten under him, winning nine of the ten fixtures played under his tutelage. They are currently fifth on Premier League table, just two behind Chelsea. When Solksjaer was brought at the helm, they were 11 points adrift of fourth place.

The heart of the matter

In an interview with Sky Sports, the former Manchester United forward revealed that he was asked to bring positive energy back at the Old Trafford when he took over.

He said:

"But my job description was, until the summer, get us playing in a certain way, get the mood back, get results - of course, I love every single minute of it and I'll take whatever comes when it comes.
"It's not just about putting smiles on faces, but that is a big part of it. Making sure you come into training looking forward to the next day and enjoy what you're doing. That's what we're trying to do at the moment.

He further elaborated:

"It's tough being away from my family, of course, but it's a challenge every single day here because we play Fulham now, we need three points to get into the top four, then it's PSG, then Chelsea - it's just challenge after challenge. It's fantastic."

What's next?

The Red Devils will play Fulham at the Craven Cottage later today and will be looking forward to extending their unbeaten streak under the Norwegian.
