Patrice Evra: Likely to head out of Old Trafford

Manchester United defender Patrice Evra could be set for a move to Serie A this summer after holding talks with Italian champions Juventus over a possible two-year deal, according to the Daily Mail.

Evra’s contract at Man United expires this summer so is free to talk to clubs and could be set to move to Serie A champions Juventus. There has been rumours at Old Trafford all season suggesting both that Evra could stay or will not be offered a new contract, and it seems the latter is true.

With Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand already out of the door, Evra could follow suit, forcing United into a big summer change in defence.

The 33-year-old left-back, who has been at United for eight years, was reportedly spotted in Turin on Friday ahead of proposed medical and negotiations.

Louis van Gaal has been announced as Man United manager and is supposedly happy to pursue Southampton left-back Luke Shaw, forcing Evra into moving to Juventus.

United are set to undergo considerable change as they look to bounce back from a disappointing season, with van Gaal coming in and the squad being overhauled.
