Inter are currently working on a deal which involves an initial two-year loan worth £9m. At the end of the loan period, Inter will be obliged to buy the striker for £53.8m.
The Serie A side have planned their bid keeping in mind other transfer business that they wish to conclude before the end of this summer. Also, this way, Inter can still get Lukaku regardless of the future of Icardi.
A meeting between the two clubs is expected by next week, and only then can the future of Romelu Lukaku be ascertained.
