Manchester United’s midfield problems this season have been well documented and it would come as no surprise if the club has lined up quite a few targets for the January transfer window.
One such target appears to Atletico Madrid’s Koke, who has been in fine form this season. In fact, according to ESPN, Sir Alex Ferguson had him scouted last season as well, so it won’t be a surprise if the club make a move for him.
His form last season and in the current season has been exceptional, so much so that he broke into the Spain senior squad, in itself a very tough thing to do. He is also being touted as a successor to Xavi, which is a great compliment for a youngster.
But they will have competition from Barcelona who are also willing to match Koke’s release clause of £16 million. It would be interesting to see who wins the race or if a 3rd club will get involved.
