Paul Pogba’s future has been subject to intense speculation

Rumours of Paul Pogba’s return to Manchester United are gathering steam and now latest reports on L'Equipe say that the 23-year old Frenchman has told his friends that he wants to re-join the Red Devils.

Former manager, Sir Alex Ferguson allowed him to leave United as a free agent in 2012 and he joined Juventus that summer. The move has probably been one of the few mistakes made by the former Manchester United manager in his career.

After moving to Italy, Pogba has gone on to become one of the most sought out midfielders in Europe. He is one of the key players in France squad at the European championship, where they have reached the semi-final where they will take on Germany in the last four of the Euro 2016.

Mourinho in his first press conference admitted that he wants to bring in four specialists in the summer transfer window.

"We made a nucleus of four positions as a priority to give a certain balance to the squad, and a push in terms of quality that I want," United manager explained.

"As you know, especially the ones with more vision, I am a manager that likes specialists, not multi-functional players."

According to respected Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Manchester United have already agreed personal terms with the in-demand Juventus midfielder. Manchester United have already signed Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan this summer with both Zlatan and Mkhitaryan having the same agent as Paul Pogba, Mino Raiola.

Mino Raiola has a very good relationship with Manchester United and it is believed that Raiola has promised the club he will do his utmost to persuade Pogba to join them. United have made Pogba their priority signing and reports claim that they are ready to break the bank to secure the Frenchman's services.

Should Manchester United fail to land Paul Pogba, they have made Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi their backup option. Juventus are aware that Pogba is attracting interest from the European heavyweights. Sky Sports' report suggests that the Italian side are looking for a fee excess of £80 million in order to part ways with their star player.

There were rumours of Pogba preferring a move to Real Madrid in favour of Manchester United but, now that the Frenchman himself seems keen to come back to the Premier League, Mourinho might just succeed in getting all his 4 targets.
