Marcelo captained the Real Madrid side in their friendly against Norwegian side Valerenga

“Keep your eyes on the ball at all times” – This quote applies to not just the footballers but the fans watching the game as well. A Norwegian youngster who was in attendance for the friendly match between Real Madrid and Valerenga found this out the hard way as a thunderous shot by Marcelo that just missed the goal, smacked him right in the face.

To be fair to the young fan, the game was still in its early moments and he was checking his phone when the unfortunate incident took place. The Brazilian international, who was captaining the side on the night, smashed the ball from just outside the penalty area in the 14th minute.

The ball missed the upright by a whisker and swirled further wide before hitting the kid square in the face before he could take evasive action, knocking the green lime mobile off his hands.

It seems the Real Madrid players are making a habit of such incidents. In April, Cristiano Ronaldo’s misdirected free kick during a warm-up session ahead of their game against city rivals Atletico Madrid, hit a kid. The reigning World Player of the Year responded by gifting his training shirt to the young fan at the end of the training session.

No such luck for Marcelo’s victim, unfortunately! The match ending in a disappointing 0-0 draw might have had something to do with it.
