Marquinhos talks about the offers he received from Barcelona and Manchester United

Brazilian defender Marquinhos recently spoke to TF1 about offers he received from Manchester United and Barcelona. Marquinhos who is currently playing for Paris-Saint Germain, revealed that United had interest to sign him last summer.

Marquinhos, who is 20 years old now, came into the French side in 2013 and has ever since been tipped for greatness. The ex-Corinthians player signed a five year deal with PSG after a €31.4 million move from Roma. The player, though, has been ever since been linked with a move to Premier League giants Manchester United. According to the player, the Red Devils tried to sway him during the last summer transfer season as well.

“Yes, Manchester wanted me. Barca too,” said the Brazilian. “They just talked, but PSG didn't give them any hope. That gives me confidence. The president is very happy with my work. The coach, too.”

Reports claim that United were not put off by PSG’s initial rejection, and are putting forward another proposal in an attempt to get their man.

Marquinhos, who is currently behind Thiago Silva and David Luiz in the pecking order, is being played as a make shift right back to get gametime. The Brazilian, replacing the injured Gregory van der Wiel and Serge Aurier, is flourishing in his new position.

PSG is impressed by their young talent and may offer the player a two-year extension. Marquinhos says the prospect delights him as he is extremely comfortable with the team

Marquinhos said, “If that happens, it'll be very good. I'm happy here. I'm really settled. But we have to leave that up to the President and the board to see what they are going to say.”
