Achraf Hakimi's rise to stardom in the last few years has been meteoric. Now, he's widely considered to be among the best full-backs.

A creative genius with exquisite crossing ability and an eye for goal, the Moroccan has brought a new dimension to PSG's attack. Hakimi's link-up plays with Kylian Mbappe have been particularly devastating.

Hakimi has had five goal contributions in ten league games, and has registered a passing accuracy of 90%.

Centre-back: Marquinhos (PSG)

Marquinhos will be key to stopping Payet.

Marquinhos joined PSG six years ago, and has since developed into a genuine leader at the back. His consistency is phenomenal, and he is widely hailed as one of the best centre-backs in the world.

Still only 27, the Brazilian, a Copa America winner, brings silk and steel to the PSG backline. His style of intelligent defending while emphasising on smart positioning and reading acumen make him a force to be reckoned with.

Marquinhos also uses his tall physique to carry an attacking threat from set-pieces, and scores key goals, thanks to his aerial prowess.

Centre-back: William Saliba (Marseille)

Marseille have so many promising young talents in their squad, including William Saliba, who's on loan from Arsenal. His promising displays have earned him plaudits from Marseille manager Jorge Sampaoli, who rates him as a potential superstar.

Those claims are not unfounded. Saliba is an excellent passer of the ball, averaging a 94.6% pass-success rate in Ligue 1 this season, and reads the game brilliantly too.

He's been key to building attacks from the back, is positionally aware, and has shown composure on the ball that belies his age. Against the likes of Lionel Messi and Mbappe, though, Saliba will have his work cut out.

Left-back: Konrad De la Fuente (Marseille)

Unwanted at Barcelona, the young American is showing his potential at Marseille.

Among the lesser-known American players currently making their mark in Europe's major leagues is Konrad De la Fuente. He is a Barcelona graduate looking to hone his skills at Marseille.

A lack of opportunities in Catalonia last season, when he made only three appearances, brought him to Ligue 1 this summer. He's making the most of the chances.

The 20-year-old excels in forward runs, and loves to join the attack. No wonder he has bagged two assists this season already. He also averages over one key pass a game, and could be a threat if PSG ignore him.
