Mata for Rooney – Are you mental? Juan is worth twice as much as Wayne

The latest rumour coming out of the grapevine is that of Chelsea‘s bid for Wayme Rooney rejected by Manchester United. The deal involved £10m plus Juan Mata or David Luiz for the England frontman.

If this is true, then I am absolutely livid. This is a ridiculous proposition where the club has gone star name crazy just like they did with Fernando Torres and Shevchenko.

Juan Mata is a hero to Chelsea fans. He is hard working, creative and at the heart of most of the good football we have played since his arrival.

As our best player (as voted by the fans) for the last two years, Juan Mata is simply worth more than two Wayne Rooneys at the moment. The thought of selling a player with a passion for Chelsea for an arrogant crybaby makes me furious just thinking about it.

You cannot sell your best player for an arrogant brand-name player on the wane like Wayne Rooney.

Hopefully this is just tabloid posturing but if it’s not, then whoever is organising the deal has lost the plot.
