Manchester United may have received a shot in the arm with respect to securing the signature of German defender Mats Hummels this summer. Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Hummels is indeed thinking about a move to the Red Devils.

Dortmund have had a terrible season compared to previous years and were in the relegation zone for much of the season. They have turned things around in the past couple of months to move up to 10th place but are 18 points away from a Champions League position with six games to go. moreover, they are 37 points behind league leaders Bayern Munich.

Hummels is considering his future: Klopp

Hummels had said last month: “Some days I think I would definitely like to move abroad but then, other days, I think I don't fancy it at all,” and that had seemed to quell any speculation of a move.

But he did mention that a move to a new club would be a good move for his career. And Klopp confirmed that Hummels could be playing his last season at Dortmund.

Klopp said: “He's told me he's thinking things over.

“We're always looking around the market ourselves.”

When asked about Manchester United’s interest in the World Cup winning defender, Klopp said: “He's good enough for Manchester United.”
