Erik Lamela is the only one of the 2013 signings to remain at Tottenham
Tottenham broke their transfer record for the third time in the summer of 2013 to bring Argentine winger Erik Lamela to White Hart Lane, handing Roma a large sum of £30m for his services, and while he hasn’t quite lived up to the hype he garnered upon arrival just yet, there’s still time for him; the 27-year old is the only one of the 7 signings to remain at the club.

Over his 7 seasons with Tottenham, Lamela has offered glimpses of his genuinely brilliant abilities; a rabona goal in a Europa League match against Asteras Tripoli, a winner against West Ham and goals against Barcelona and Manchester City. Unfortunately, injuries have largely curtailed his Spurs career, with a hip injury reducing him to just a handful of games in 2016 and 2017.
Now finally fit again, Lamela remains in current manager Jose Mourinho’s first team plans, and he’s made 8 appearances under the Portuguese boss since his return from injury last December. Whether his future lies away from North London could depend on how well he can keep himself fit going forward, but if he can avoid injury then there’s no reason why he can’t go on to find success with Tottenham.
