According to the German newspaper Bild, who were incidentally also the first outlet to reveal Gotze’s move to Munich, Jose Mourinho has texted Robert Lewandowski in the past month to lure him away from Dortmund to Chelsea.

This comes after increasing speculation regarding the Portuguese manager leaving Real Madrid this summer to return to the London club, and it seems like he’s wasting no time in cracking a deal for the most talked about player in the market for his potential new employers in England.

Chelsea, who have been away from the Lewandowski rumors, and are looking to sign fellow Bundesliga star Andre Schurrle at the end of the season. However, with Mourinho impressed by the Polish attacker who smashed 4 past Real Madrid in their semifinal showdown, it’s possible that Jose may have convinced Roman Abramovich to push hard for the Dortmund goal-machine.

Sport Bild also goes on to suggest that six days ago, Chelsea had submitted a €30m bid for Lewandowski, which is deemed to be a lot more than the Polish striker’s asking price, who has only a year left on his contract. This certainly comes as a surprise as Chelsea, until now, have not been involved in this transfer saga but still could turn out to be the eventual suitors for Lewandowski.

With Dortmund looking to materialize the transfer with anyone but Bayern and Lewandowski looking for a side where he could play at the top level on a consistent basis, Chelsea could be the best deal on the table for the Bundesliga outfit.
