NBA superstar Stephen Curry has invited Lionel Messi to a Golden State Warriors match and has gifted the footballer his number 30 jersey after the Argentine sensation crossed 30 million followers on Instagram.
The two stars are good friends and currently are at the pinnacle of their respective sports. Stephen Curry was named NBA’s Most Valuable Player this year after he led GSW to the NBA title. On the other hand, Messi helped Barcelona to an unprecedented second treble last season and was the highest scorer in the Champions League along with teammate Neymar.
Curry posted a video of himself on Instagram congratulating Messi on his 30 million followers and also invited him for a ‘dubs’ match.
Curry said: "Man I can't believe you hit 30 million followers on Instagram Leo, that's incredible.”
"We've got to get you out to a Dubs game sooner than later to help you celebrate. But in the meantime, I had to get you this No 30 jersey to help you celebrate all your followers."

Messi thanked the 27-year-old and shared a photo of himself holding a signed Curry #30 jersey which the NBA MVP had sent him.
Earlier, the four-time Ballon D’Or winner had posted a picture of the jersey which he had donned on his debut for the Catalan club back in 2004 against Espanyol. Incidentally, the then 17-year-old was wearing a jersey numbered 30 in the match.
Curry was recently quizzed about the similarities between his and Messi’s path in their own sports. He also revealed his admiration for the Barcelona talisman.
Curry said: “I don't know - it's like a chicken or the egg kind of conversation. We both have a creative style, where it's just about a feel when you're out on the pitch or the court.
“I try to do some fancy things out there with both hands, making crossover moves and kind of have a certain creativity and flair to my game.
“And that's definitely the style that Messi has when he's out there in his matches. I love watching him play. I'm a big fan. You never know what he's going to do at any particular moment.
“When he's on TV, everybody is glued in because, as soon as he gets a touch with the ball, something special could happen. And you've got to appreciate that kind of talent.”
