Alvaro Negredo has told Sevilla FC that he wants to leave the club to play Champions League football. However, club president Jose Maria del Nido stated that Negredo will be allowed to leave only when there is a right offer on the table. He admitted that he would want the Sevilla striker to stay at the club.
“We are not going to undersell Negredo or any other player,” he told AS. “If you ask me I would like him to stay.
“I hope he does and continues to score many goals for Sevilla. We are used to the pressure there is in these cases but we are evidently not going to undersell him.”
He added: “He will only go if the right offer arrives. If it doesn’t, he will stay, he has another four years left on his contract.”
Negredo was the highest scoring Spaniard in the La Liga last season with 25 goals. Tottenham and Athletico Madrid are reportedly the two clubs who are interested in the striker.
