The I-League 2nd division qualifying round will be held from March 26 to April 25 in three venues viz. Delhi, Bangalore and Tripura. 21 teams will be participating in the qualifying round and have been divided into three groups. Top two teams from each group will then meet in the final round along with Mohammedan Sporting and Vasco S.C (who faced relegation last year in the I-League Division I) scheduled to be held at Bangalore.

The heroes will play in the Delhi-leg of the I-League second division in Group “B. The team is clubbed with ONGC, SESA Goa, Amity United, Simla Youngs, Hindustan FC and Indian Nationals FC.

Considering the fact that New Delhi Heroes, the only club from the capital to have played in the Federation Cup and register a win against I-League toppers Sporting Club de Goa, Football experts predict that the two main contenders to qualify from Group-B would be ONGC and New Delhi Heroes.

RC Deswal (GM, ND Heroes FC) said, “ND Heroes is a balanced team that plays a good mix of attack and defense, but attack is still the team’s forte. Rishi Kapoor one of the new entry and star player of the team who has played with eminent clubs like Mohan Bagan, Salgaocar is very skilful and if he can strike the right chord, then it will do the world of good to the Heroes’ fortune. We also have few more star players this year, which includes Amjad Ali Khan, Rishi Kapur, Bhuvan Chander Joshi (captain), Jiten Rai and Baba Tunde. But in the end team is all about group effort, everyone contributes to the success of our team”.

The club is owned and managed by Infinity Optimal Solutions Pvt. Ltd (IOS) (www.iosindia.com), India’s leading Sports & Entertainment Company. “Football is the second most popular sport in the country and our main endeavor is to put Delhi on the football map of India and then Asia. We want New Delhi Heroes to be at a position where Delhi Daredevils is for Cricket (IPL) in the near future. This would give the sport followers of the city to experience top quality football matches and weigh their options between cricket and football. We hope that football fans would come and support the Heroes to make them the first club from Delhi to qualify for the I-League” said, Neerav Tomar (CEO & Co-founder, IOS Pvt. Ltd.)
