Barcelona vice-president, Rafa Yuste, has once again confirmed the club's plans to bring Lionel Messi back. He wants the Argentine to get the farewell he deserves and believes the story should have a beautiful ending.

Messi's career at Barcelona came to an abrupt end as the Catalan side could not renew his deal in 2021. He moved to PSG on a free transfer, but is now reportedly set to rejoin after running down his contract in Paris.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, Yuste stated that he wants to see the Argentine back at Camp Nou. He said (via BarcaTimes):

"I would love to see Messi come back, all beautiful stories must have the best ending."

Earlier in the season, he said (via BarcaUniversal):

"We've been in contact with Leo Messi's camp. Leo knows how much we appreciate him and I'd love for him to come back. For sure Messi loves Barça and the city, so we hope to find the right conditions to continue his history here."

Javier Tebas, the president of La Liga, has also hinted that the Catalan side are moving in the right direction to welcome back Messi. He told the media (via MadridScoops):

"Busquets' departure is beginning of the road for Messi's return, but to reach the end, Barça still have to walk many meters. I'm not the one to give them the green light, it will be the economic control."

The Blaugrana still need to raise funds and get within La Liga limits to register new players.

Pep Guardiola wants Lionel Messi to get Barcelona farewell

Pep Guardiola has claimed that he wants Barcelona to resign Lionel Messi, so that he can get a proper farewell at the club. He was talking to ESPN when he said:

"I hope one day we can say goodbye to Messi with Barcelona as he deserves, he is the best player in history. I am a socio of FC Barcelona and I have my own seats on the field and I hope that the day will come when Leo can enjoy his farewell as he deserves. No one expected him to leave like this and I am convinced that the president is working to see him off in a way that he deserves, he made Barcelona much bigger than it was when he came in."

Lionel Messi and Pep Guardiola have been linked with a return to Camp Nou, but the Argentine is the only one keen on pushing for the move.
