Chelsea legend John Terry doesn't believe Tottenham Hotspur will win the Premier League title this season.

Spurs haven't won the first division title since the 1960-61 season but have made a strong start to the current campaign, with 23 points from nine matches. Gameweek nine proved to be beneficial for them, with Arsenal only managing a 2-2 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham, meanwhile, beat Fulham 2-0 on Monday (23 October), ensuring they opened up a two-point lead at the top of the table. Jamie O'Hara, for one, thinks that his former club can go all the way this season.

The former Spurs midfielder made a case for Tottenham's title chances. An excerpt from his quotes read, via Football Daily on X:

"I'd love to think that we can [win the title]... Teams are going to take points off each other. Tottenham are going to lose games, we haven't lost yet but we will. Man City are going to lose games and so are Arsenal and Liverpool.
"It's about who can be consistent, limit the mistakes. Can Tottenham win the league? Why can't we not win the league? Because we are Tottenham and everyone says that we crumble."

O'Hara shared the video on his X profile with the caption "Can Spurs win the league 👀👀", to which Terry replied "NO !".

Terry won five Premier League titles as a player with Chelsea and played 32 times across competitions against arch-rivals Tottenham. He remarkably ended up on the losing side on just six occasions, winning 17 times.

One of those losses came in the final of the 2007-08 EFL Cup, which is still Tottenham's last major silverware. The Englishman, 42, is currently working as an academy coach with the west London giants — a position he occupied in July this year.

Chelsea give up two-goal lead against Arsenal but continue mini unbeaten run

Chelsea looked like they were heading for all three points at Stamford Bridge earlier this week when they took a 2-0 lead against Arsenal.

Goals from Raheem Sterling and Mykhaylo Mudryk put the Blues in a strong position with 15 minutes to go on the clock. But a mistake from Robert Sanchez saw Declan Rice halve the deficit in the 77th minute before Leandro Trossard scored the equalizer six minutes from time.

The draw meant Chelsea squandered the chance to go on a four-game winning run across competitions for the first time since October 2022. Before the game against the Gunners, they beat Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0 in the third round of the EFL Cup and secured league wins over Fulham (2-0) and Burnley (4-1).

The Blues are now 10th in the table with 12 points from nine matches.
