Chelsea produced their biggest win of the season on Monday (April 15) when they beat Everton 6-0 at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League. However, the Blues' massive win was overshadowed by a penalty kick incident, news around which took centre-stage after the game.
Former Blues forward Chris Sutton criticized the Blues for creating chaos in public while in the middle of a game. While speaking to It's All Kicking Off, he said (via The Chelsea Chronicle):
“I don’t think Cole Palmer’s missed a penalty, so therefore what was the debate about? It just tells me that the Chelsea dressing room is a bit of a cesspit of overinflated egos, overpaid players who think that they’re the finished article."
Sutton added:
“It also emphasises what a difficult job Pochettino has had on, has got on. You need a harmonious dressing room. It’s like in any walk of life. Not everybody is going to get on, but there are rules and there are standards within the dressing room and within the team which players simply know they have to uphold.”
Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino warned his players in the post-match presser that it was the last time he would accept such behavior.

With Chelsea 4-0 up in the game against Everton, the Blues earned a second-half penalty after Cole Palmer was fouled. Designated taker Palmer appeared to be limping away from the impact of the tackle.
An eager Noni Madueke grabbed the ball, with Nicolas Jackson confronting him moments later to argue over who should take the spot kick. Veteran defender Thiago Silva calmed down the attackers with Madueke winning the chance to keep the ball.
As Palmer walked back to take the penalty, Madueke appeared to hand over the ball and was made to walk away by captain Conor Gallagher. Jackson, sensing the confusion, attempted a second run at taking the ball away, but failed to convince his teammates once again.
Palmer stepped up to slam home his fourth goal of the night to put his side up 5-0. It was the Englishman's ninth penalty of the season, with Palmer maintaining a 100% record from the spot so far.
