The 22-year-old has excelled for the German club over the past couple of seasons. He notably played a key role in the 2023-24 season as they completed an unbeaten domestic campaign. They also made the final of the UEFA Europa League but lost against Atalanta, as Wirtz grabbed 18 goals and 20 assists in 49 games.

He carried his strong form into the 2024-25 season, collecting 16 goals and 15 assists, but Xabi Alonso's men were unable to recapture their magic.

Wirtz emerged as a key target for top clubs across Europe, with Bayern Munich and Manchester City also considering a move for the player. However, Liverpool have done well to move quickly and secure the services of the player. He is set to smash the club's record transfer fee and will end up commanding the highest fee for a German.

The Uruguayan has failed to impress in his two seasons at Anfield following his big-money move from Portugal. Thus, Arne Slot's men are keen to make a big addition to fill up the striker position, in addition to a massive move for Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz.

Isak has spent the last two seasons as one of the Premier League's best strikers, leading the line impressively for Eddie Howe's side. With 44 goals over the past two league campaigns, he has emerged as one of the best in the position. However, with the Magpies securing UCL football, it might be difficult for Liverpool to entice him away from St. James' Park.

Ekitike, meanwhile, endured a difficult campaign at Paris Saint-Germain, eventually moving to Frankfurt. He had a strong Bundesliga season, grabbing 15 goals and eight assists. Chelsea also have their eyes on the 22-year-old Frenchman. With the German side looking for a fee of €100 million, it remains to be seen if one of the two Premier League sides will make a move for him.
