Fans took to Twitter to slam Cristiano Ronaldo after Al-Nassr drew 1-1 against Al-Khaleej yesterday (May 8). The five-time Ballon d'Or winner refused to take a selfie with an Al-Khaleej staff member, angrily rebuffing him instead.

Cristiano Ronaldo was signed by Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr back in January for a mammoth fee worth 200 million euros a year. He signed a deal that runs to the summer of 2025.

Al-Nassr have been knocked out of all domestic competitions this season and their only shot at silverware is to win the league. They had a real opportunity to apply pressure on leaders Al-Ittihad by reducing the deficit to just three points, however, they were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw at home.

Portuguese midfielder Fabio Martins gave Al-Khaleej a shock lead in the fourth minute after he expertly finished past Agustin Rossi. Alvaro Gonzalez equalized for Al-Nassr in the 17th minute.

Despite dominating possession (66%) and triple the number of shots (22 to seven), Al-Nassr failed to win a winner. Cristiano Ronaldo went close multiple times however fortune did not favor him on the night.

The Real Madrid legend was visibly annoyed following the game. He gave his shirt to Fabio Martins however he was in no mood to entertain selfies. He harshly denied an Al-Khaleej staff member, which can be viewed below:

Fans were unimpressed by his actions and slammed him on Twitter:

Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr's hopes of winning the Saudi Pro League took a massive hit after the draw. Al-Ittihad won their game in hand and are currently five points clear of the Knights of Najd with just four games of the season left to be played.

Brazil legend believes Cristiano Ronaldo should leave Al-Nassr and return to Real Madrid

Brazil legend Rivaldo believes Cristiano Ronaldo may have been fooled into joining the Knights of Najd and that he should return to Real Madrid at the end of the season.

The Portuguese superstar has scored 12 goals and provided two assists in 13 league games so far this season. However, he is likely to go trophyless this season and Rivaldo believes that Ronaldo is unhappy.

The Brazilian told Mundo Deportivo:

“I understand that sometimes the players are fooled by the big contract they sign in Saudi Arabia but then life there is more closed and football is not always as easy as expected. So, you may be going through a phase of some disappointment and even reflection. If the money you’re getting makes up for the not-so-happy life you’re living right now."

He added:

“It would be good for him and for football to see Cristiano Ronaldo return to Real Madrid to finish his career."

According to reports, Real Madrid were recently ready to offer Ronaldo a return to his former club as an ambassador off the field.

The Portuguese will next be in action for the Knights of Najd against Al-Ta'ee in an away Saudi Pro League game on May 16.
