Lionel Messi has revealed that his favorite moment with Barcelona was winning the sextuple in the 2008-09 season. The Argentinean maestro was in the thick of things that campaign under Pep Guardiola, and also won his first Ballon d'Or later in 2009.

The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner had multiple memorable moments with the Catalans. He scored a record 91 goals for club and country in 2012. La Pulga is also the LaLiga giants' most successful player, with 34 trophies to his name with the club.

Messi is Barcelona's record goalscorer as well, registering 672 goals and 303 assists from 778 games. However, it is not the individual achievements that the 37-year-old values the most from his time with Camp Nou.

The Argentinean recently sat down with Catalunya Radio to discuss his life with the Catalans. Lionel Messi was asked to name his favorite record with the club and he gave a heartwarming response.

"It’s the sextuple with Barcelona. That year, the team enjoyed everything—training, matches—every single day. We would go out to play, already confident about the result. The only question was how it would end, not whether we would win. Honestly, it was a year I truly enjoyed, and I think we all enjoyed everything about it," said Messi.

The Catalans won the LaLiga trophy, the Champions League, the Copa del Rey, and the Supercopa de Espana that season. They also lifted the FIFA Club World Cup as well as the UEFA Super Cup.

Lionel Messi joined Barcelona as a 13-year-old and rose through the ranks at Camp Nou. He earned his first team debut in 2004 and there was no looking back.

La Pulga would go on to establish himself as one of the greatest players ever to grace the beautiful game. The Argentinean maestro won everything on offer with the Catalans over the years.

However, Messi was ultimately forced to leave the club in the summer of 2021, when his contract with the LaLiga giants expired. Barcelona were going through financial turmoil and didn't have the funds to afford a renewal.

Lionel Messi left Camp Nou and joined Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on a Bosman move. The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner spent two campaigns with the Ligue 1 champions, winning two league titles.

He left the Parc des Princes in the summer of 2023, as a free agent, to move to Inter Miami and currently plies his trade in the MLS.
