PSG have relied on Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi in Neymar's absence

Before the start of the season, it was evident that PSG would rely heavily on the attacking trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe to carry the team's attack this season.

The three superstars delivered on the pitch. However, Neymar saw his season ended prematurely after picking up an ankle injury. The Brazilian went through a surgery and was ruled out for the remainder of the campaign.

The onus fell on Messi and Mbappe to lead the attack, which they have done so well. Mbappe has been prolific in terms of scoring records, netting 40 times across competitions. Messi, meanwhile, has kept a balance between scoring and providing. He has scored 20 goals and provided 20 assists in 39 games across competitions this season.

Thanks to their superstars Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi, the Parisians are on the cusp of retaining their Ligue 1 title. Leading second-placed Lens (78) by six points, Christophe Galtier and Co. need just a point from their two remaining games to become the new champions.
