"Next season gonna be a movie" - Manchester United fans thrilled as Thomas Tuchel's comments on Marcus Rashford resurface amid links 

Manchester United fans think Thomas Tuchel could be the manager to get the best out of Marcus Rashford after his old comments about the forward resurfaced. The Bayern Munich boss is linked with the Old Trafford job amid doubts over Erik ten Hag.

Tuchel has emerged as a candidate to replace Ten Hag should the Red Devils part ways with the Dutchman this summer. The German tactician will leave Bayern at the end of the season after failing to deliver the Bundesliga title.

Reports claim Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has asked Tuchel to commit to the Premier League giants. The British billionaire is an admirer of the former Chelsea coach who guided the Blues to UEFA Champions League glory in 2021.

Tuchel has faced United several times during his managerial career including while at Ligue 1 giants PSG. He managed the Parisians in two Champions League campaigns in which Rashford starred.

Rashford helped the Red Devils overturn a 2-0 last-16 loss on aggregate in the 2018-19 campaign. He scored and assisted in a 3-1 win away at the Parc des Princes. The England international followed that up with the winner in a 2-1 win in Paris during the group stages a season later.

Tuchel spoke glowingly about Rashford after his exploits against his PSG side. He lauded his personality (via TNT Sports):

"The guy is a very young adult who takes his responsibility off and on the pitch. He is very (impressive), very (impressive). I've met him three times as an opponent and every time I meet a calm guy, I meet a humble guy, a nice person, which is amazing because I like this kind of mixture."

Tuchel also hailed Rashford's abilities:

"He's a big threat with his speed, his ability to score, with his precision and finishing, with his determination. He is super rapid on counter attacks, strong in the air for headers. It's nice to see guys from him from the academy have a big impact for a big club like (Manchester United)."

Manchester United fans caught wind of Tuchel's old comments on social media and several of them are excited.

One fan reposted Tuchel's interview and predicted a movie if the German becomes Rashford's coach:

"Tuchel speaking on Rashford. Next season gonna be a movie omds."

Manchester United's Mason Mount talked up Tuchel's man management amid Rashford's struggles this season

Mason Mount could shine under Thomas Tuchel at Manchester United.

Rashford has come off the boil this season due to issues on and off the pitch. The English forward has managed eight goals and five assists in 40 games across competitions. The Manchester United star produced the best numbers of his career during the 2022-23 campaign.

Mason Mount joined Rashford at Old Trafford last summer in a £60 million deal from Chelsea. He's suffered from constant injury issues, unable to replicate his stellar form under Tuchel at Stamford Bridge.

The English midfielder was a standout performer for Tuchel as the Blues won the Champions League in 2021. He hailed his former manager at the time (via The Mirror):

"For me personally he’s helped me on and off the ball, he’s helped me with confidence. I’m loving every moment and hopefully we can keep winning things."

This bodes well for Rashford who appears to be a player who needs confidence to be at his best. He and Mount could shine under Tuchel given the German's work previously at Chelsea with the latter.
