Batca striker reveals he is happy at Camp Nou

Veteran Polish striker Robert Lewandowski revealed in a recent interview that he is very much happy at his current club side Barcelona.

The 34-year-old centre-forward who is currently in his first season at Camp Nou has made known how happy he is to be at the club. The Pole also stressed the love that he has been shown by fans of the Spanish giants.

Lewandowski was a high-profile signing for the Blaugrana during last summer's transfer window after he secured a big-money move to Camp Nou. Barca splashed out a whooping transfer fee in the region of €50 million to secure the services of the 34-year-old Polish striker from Bayern Munich.

Despite spending a huge amount of memorable time in Germany with both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, Lewandowski, however, seems to be happier at his present club Barcelona.

Speaking during an interview, he went on to reveal his connection with the club, their fans, and the city. In his words (via Polish news outlet Interia Sport):

"I'm happy, I've never felt this way before. Nowhere else would I find as much love as the one Barcelona have given me. And I'm not just talking about the club - but also about the people, about the city”

Meanwhile, Lewandowski has helped Barca clinch the league title in his first season with the Blaugrana as well as a cup title earlier in January. He has maintained his terrific form in front goal for Xavi Hernandez's side this season, scoring 32 goals across all competitions thus far.

The Polish striker currently leads the 2022-23 La Liga goal standings with 22 goals to his credit, five above second-placed Karim Benzema. Lewandowski also has 10 goals in cup competitions, with five in the Champions League, two in Copa del Rey, two in Supercopa de Espana, and one in the Europa League.

His performance currently makes him the highest-scoring player for Barcelona this season, thus taking up the huge role vacated by former player Lionel Messi. Lewandowski himself has expressed his desire of playing alongside the Argentine at Camp Nou, amid the forward's contract situation at PSG.

Robert Lewandowski makes his stand on Lionel Messi's links to Barcelona

The Polish striker has once again expressed his desire to play alongside Argentine forward Lionel Messi at Camp Nou next season.

The 35-year-old forward is currently being linked with a move away from the Parc de Princess this summer as there seems to be no breakthrough in contract negotiations with the French giants.

Messi is currently being linked with a sensational return to his former club side Barcelona and club striker Lewandowski has stated his desire to line up alongside the Barca legend next season. In his words as seen in Mirror, he said:

“I want to play with Messi here in Barcelona. He has changed his style in recent years. It is easier to play with players who understand football as deeply as he does."

The Argentine reportedly also has offers on the table from Saudi Pro League (SPL) club Al-Hilal and Major Soccer League (MLS) side Inter Miami CF.
