Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has offered fitness updates on Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Leny Yoro, and Luke Shaw ahead of his side's Europa League clash against Bodo/Glimt on Thursday (November 28). The Red Devils have struggled for form this season, sitting 12th in the Premier League and 15th in the Europa League table.

Erik ten Hag's successor, Amorim, saw his first game in charge end in a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town on November 24. The Portuguese tactician is now gearing up for Manchester United's midweek Europa League fixture, and he's offered updates on four injured players.

Lisandro Martinez missed Amorim's debut game in charge due to a back injury while Harry Maguire hasn't featured since his calf issue against Aston Villa in early October.

Meanwhile, summer signing Leny Yoro has yet to make his Manchester United debut after fracturing his foot in pre-season. Luke Shaw made his first appearance of the season against Ipswich after recovering from his knee and calf problems.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Amorim said (via UtdDistrict):

"Licha is ready to play, Harry [Maguire] is returning, that's a good thing. Leny Yoro is improving his fitness, Luke [Shaw] is healthy! Let's see if he plays in the starting XI or not..."

Manchester United will face Everton in the Premier League at the weekend on Sunday (December 1).

"That’s my big worry" - Paul Merson worried over Manchester United star's place in Ruben Amorim's lineup

Arsenal icon Paul Merson has voiced concerns over Marcus Rashford's place in Manchester United's starting lineup with Ruben Amorim in charge.

Rashford attracted a lot of criticism for his performances last season, netting just eight times in 56 games across competitions. The England international failed to reproduce the 30-goal campaign he had during the 2022-23 season.

Rashford has started all but two of his side's fixtures so far this term and he made it into Amorim's starting lineup and scored against Ipswich as well. However, Merson is worried that the 27-year-old may lose his place at Old Trafford.

The pundit said on Sky Sports:

“I’m a great believer that the cream always rises to the top. We talk about talent, we talk about great players, but great players work hard and he’s worked hard to get where he is. He’s never had this situation where he’s not first choice anymore. He needs to get a bit consistent.
"I don’t like him as a centre-forward. I don’t think he is a centre-forward. Having his back to play isn’t Marcus Rashford. Holding the ball up, he needs to be running with the ball at goal, not having his back to goal. I don’t know where they will find space for him in this team, that’s my big worry.”
